Thunder España at NESTet 2011

The European Nuclear Society launched the second edition NESTet, the conference dedicated to nuclear education and training, from May 15-18 in Prague, Czech Republic.

The symposium attracted over 100 participants from 30 countries: 21 European countries as well as delegates from North America (Canada, U.S.A.), South America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile), Asia (Japan, Korea), Middle East (U.A.E.) and Africa (Morocco).

Thunder España participated in the session entitled «What is the situation with regards to infraestructure and tools for nuclear education and training?» with the presentation «Already available training solutions to the global challenges of the Nuclear Renaissance from the simulation industry» (downloadable here).


Agreement with E.ON España and CIC Consulting Informático

Thunder España has recently signed an agreement with E.ON España and CIC Consulting Informático to undertake together an innovative project for the renewable energy sector. The objective of the project, nicknamed PAUL, is to deliver an advanced tool for the management and simulation of electric distribution grids to which renewable energy sources, wind farms in particular, contribute significantly.

The project is scheduled for completion in two years and will be partially funded by the regional Government through a grant from the Sodercan Group to promote industrial R&D in renewable energy.

Thunder España, invited to the CORYS T.E.S.S. User's Club 2011 meeting

The biennal event took place in Grenoble from March 29 to 31. Professionals of energy and transport sectors from different countries were gathered under the motto "Innovation in Partnership".

Members of Thunder España attended the conferences at World Trade Center and also the demo sessions at CORYS T.E.S.S. brand new headquarters building.

One of  the demonstrations was about  the  additional  capabilities  of  tandem  simulation  products T-REX platform and THOR code and it was based on the first stage of full-scope training simulator for combined cycle gas turbine plant in Sabiya (Kuwait), one of the projects that Thunder España is currently participating in.

The Young Entrepreneurs Association (AJE) of Cantabria and the SODERCAN group awarded Mario Garcés of Thunder España Simulación with the Junior Young Entrepreneur Prize.

The ceremony was held on January 27, in the auditorium of the Palace of Magdalena in Santander (Spain).

As the winner of one of the two regional categories, Young Entrepreneur and Junior Young Entrepreneur, he will compete in the Spanish National Young Entrepreneur Prize.
